Thanksgiving Camp Wrap-Up!

The first annual Thanksgiving Camp at Next Soccer Park was a success! We were thrilled to have 12 players who showed up and showed off on November 24, 25, and 26 (when they could have been sleeping in)! Their soccer experience ranged from beginner to club level, yet they had a shared dedication to the game. Strangers became friends. Siblings became teammates.  Amid sunshine and crisp fall air, the energy was incredible. Coached by Christian, Jake, and Juan, the athletes did warm-ups, drills, and scrimmages with curiosity and commitment on the turf. Boys and girls built dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending skills. They were locked in!  Special instructors included competitive athletes who led a brief strength-and-conditioning session. Were our campers sore the next day? And the days after that? You bet! Their hard work and communal fun were evident in many ways. As we mentioned in our previous blog, time off from school doesn’t have to mean time cooped up at home.  Our Thanksgiving Camp was the perfect segue to holiday time with family. Should My Kid Play Soccer During Time Off?

When schools go back to session, children and parents get into a full swing with a packed schedule. Between classes, sports, and homework, there is little downtime. Kids wait longingly for a national holiday or any day off to get a break from their routine. We at Next Sports Enterprises embrace a little time off, too — with the key word being “little.” Sleeping in, binging on Netflix, or even playing a video game here or there can be a welcome reset mentally, but prolonged time away from sports has its downsides. When one day off turns into two or three, a sedentary child gets uneasy. The energy they were used to burning off on campus or on the field is now pent up. They might start acting up at home, becoming irritable, impatient, or restless. As coaches and parents, we know this all too well. Productive time off from school doesn’t mean kids have to be cooped up in the home. That’s why we offer private lessons, leagues, classes, and open play times throughout the year. Next Soccer Park: Four Months from Vision to Fruition

Hundreds gathered on Friday, August 19, 2025, for the grand opening of Next Soccer Park, marking a historic night for soccer in Simi Valley.
