When schools go back to session, children and parents get into a full swing with a packed schedule. Between classes, sports, and homework, there is little downtime. Kids wait longingly for a national holiday or any day off to get a break from their routine. We at Next Sports Enterprises embrace a little time off, too — with the key word being “little.” Sleeping in, binging on Netflix, or even playing a video game here or there can be a welcome reset mentally, but prolonged time away from sports has its downsides.
When one day off turns into two or three, a sedentary child gets uneasy. The energy they were used to burning off on campus or on the field is now pent up. They might start acting up at home, becoming irritable, impatient, or restless. As coaches and parents, we know this all too well. Productive time off from school doesn’t mean kids have to be cooped up in the home. That’s why we offer private lessons, leagues, classes, and open play times throughout the year. And in a few short weeks, our Thanksgiving Camp will begin!
According to Scripps Health, “Even a single session of physical activity can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as create feelings of well-being for several hours after exercising. Over the long term, regular participation in youth sports has been found to be as effective as medication in improving mental health and happiness.”
Whether athletes are familiar with Next Soccer Park or new to the fields, we welcome them to join our three-day camp on November 24, 25, 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parents can choose between a morning, afternoon, or full-day session for kids ages six to 14. Our flexible schedule allows for balanced time off during the holiday.
“Youth soccer clubs typically wrap up their game season in early November, so with that, and players having up to a week off from school, we invite them to finesse their technical, speed, and agility skills in camp,” said Coach Christian Udaeta. “Here, they’ll take their love of the sport and train under the guidance of our experienced team without pressure.”
With small-sided games and scrimmages, the Thanksgiving Camp at Next Soccer Park will help girls and boys beat boredom, enjoy some fresh fall air, stay active, have time with friends (or make new ones), and get more touches on the ball. With only 30 spots left, sign up here today! Any questions? Please reach out to us at (805) 823-9013.
