Should My Kid Play Soccer During Time Off?
When schools go back to session, children and parents get into a full swing with a packed schedule. Between classes, sports, and homework, there is little downtime. Kids wait longingly for a national holiday or any day off to get a break from their routine. We at Next Sports Enterprises embrace a little time off, too — with the key word being “little.” Sleeping in, binging on Netflix, or even playing a video game here or there can be a welcome reset mentally, but prolonged time away from sports has its downsides. When one day off turns into two or three, a sedentary child gets uneasy. The energy they were used to burning off on campus or on the field is now pent up. They might start acting up at home, becoming irritable, impatient, or restless. As coaches and parents, we know this all too well.
